In this class you will learn how to add patterns to copper or brass pieces. We will be working with copper and make them a permanent part of your design. We will be using Ferric Chloride as the etchant. This class is useful if you have taken the Metalsmithing Bootcamp, but if you would like to take this first, you may want to take the Metalsmithing Bootcamp later so that you can make a finished product out of your etched pieces. In this workshop we will cover the basics for Even Count Peyote stitch. You will learn how to follow a pattern and you will start on a bracelet. By using graph paper you can make your own pattern or you can follow a provided pattern. Ana will also demonstrate how to use the Quick Start Peyote card by Deb Moffett-Hall, as well as how to add more thread, finish threads and how to attach a clasp and embellish the sides.

Beading Boot Camp: Advanced Basic Training is the next step in honing your beading skills. Once you've completed your Basic Training, you are ready for the next step on your beading journey. You will learn all the techniques in the Knotting and More Fun With Wire classes. You will learn how to knot between beads with tweezers, and also the "Floating Pearl" knotting technique. You will leave with a knotted beaded bracelet. You will also learn the basic wrapped coil or "bailing" technique with wire to complete a pair of wire wrapped earrings. If you've had a taste but want to learn more, this is the perfect workshop to continue on your beading adventure. *Pre-requisite: You must have completed Beading Boot Camp: Basic Training or Let's Make a Necklace and Easy Earrings for Beginners classes. (or have knowledge and experience in these beginning techniques.)
